Graduation cards

I have two neices graduating high school and my step daughter from 8th grade. Both schools have the same colors red/yellow.
The first card I used cuttlebug as the background.
The second card, I used the toilet paper technique. I also heat embossed the mortar board w/ red.
The third card for my stepdaughter is replicating her graduation dress. She has a zebra print dress w/ a yellow wide belt. Wanted to match the card to the dress. The flower is a plain color prima flower. I inked it w/ red ink.
All cards has a 2009 charm.

Recipe swap

On JS, we are doing a "slow cooker" recipe swap. This is the first one I did. I kept the cards simple. I used a gingham background, red ribbon. The buttons are from MS button punch (I love that punch). The "X" are paper scraps I pulled through to make it look like the buttons are sewn on.

Some of my work

I had a challenge at J.S....we did a layout on an illness I suffered from. This is a poem/letter to my husband, of Fibro. The next photo is a card I did for my brother-in-law, Adam. The colors are purple/gold, but they don't show up as well.

Rocky

Ok....here's Rocky deciding to sit on the keyboard and got in the way of my typing. Sorry picture so dark...took it w/ my cell phone as if I got up to get my camera, he would have moved....I will have to do a layout on this one...onery cat! Don't want to mess with him....he likes to bite when he is mad and that HURTS! lol

Mom's day cards and Grad card

I could not sleep so I finished my Mom's day and Grad cards.....it is almost 5am. The two cards in the same photo are for my MIL and Step-MIL. The grad card is for my nephew, Joshua, who is graduating from college. (Ok Rocky.....my cat....you need to move....his 25 pound body just decided to sit on my arm and the mouse/keyboard). Joshua has his bachelor degree and just received a full ride scholarship to University of Riverside for his PHD. I am so proud of him!
On his card, I used the toilet tissue technique that Aymee did a tutorial on her blog. The Moms cards I used the ribbon technique she used. I like that technique. Thanks Aymee...these were fun to make!

New techniques

These two photos are techniques that I learned From Aymee. the first image is the card with the ribbon that she gave us the tutorial and also a tutorial of using bathroom tissue imprimting to cuttle bug embosse folders and Fiskars texture boards. I don't have a sentiment yet for the completed card and I am deciding in how to use the tissue pieces on the card. These were a lot of fun!

Can't believe April is almost over!

Wow, I can't believe April is almost over. Time is going by so fast. April 16th, I was in Tennessee on a scrapbooking retreat w/ the Just Scrappin gals. Thanks to Cristal, aka Pinky, for the planning. Love her! Fiskars sent us some scrapping gifts, along w/ the cowgirl hats and play guns. We had a ball. I am glad I met y'all (I am talking southern....lol).
Did I get any scrapping done? Yeah....right!!! I socialized instead. Janelle did show me how to make paper flowers and went scrappy shopping.....so, that is all the scrapping I did.
I was depressed coming back to California to 100 degree heat and brown mountains. Tennessee was so green and pretty. Can't wait to do layouts of the trip.

Scrappy desk

I haven't been on for awhile. My son had a desk that he was not using anymore and it was perfect for me to work on my scrappy things. I decided to "spice" up the desk and decopage it. I took scrapbook paper to the desk. It was fun. Tiger decided she had to join in on the fun and loves being by my side, so I had to include her as well.

I did a few b-day cards and a get well card for Dad. The get well card, I used the house mouse stamp image that Cyndi from SAS gave me. That was very kind of her. The blue b-day card, I used the cuttlebug dots and the fiskar's treading water punch. Mom loved her card as it was her b-day card. The pink card was for my sister and she liked hers as well.

Wednesday 2/04

My new challenge to myself

Hello everyone

Well, I have done the January challenges at Just Scrappin'. My next goal is to start on the Cuttlebug challenges. I hope to start this challenge by next week. Crazy week w/ soccer and baseball games.

When I do, I will definitely post my work. I just love that Cuttlebug! Joanns have their products on sale today, so I bought the textile plate. I don't have that one. I may just have to use this one on my Mom's b-day in a few days. It's very cute!

Card and soccer page

I made a card and a soccer layout for JS. the card is a little bare as I have not put the sentiment on it yet. I don't know who to send the card to at the moment.
The soccer layout is of my nephew, James, in the yellow. He was in high school. I loved watching his games. I miss the games, he is now 26. These boys sure can get rough with each other.

Altered comp book

I have not been playing w/ my blog lately and decided I need to add something new. This is an altered comp book that I did. I loved the paper and didn't want to cover it up, so I used stickles.
I need to play here more often and get busy scrapping.
